The Fine–tuning Problem of the Electroweak Symmetry Breaking Mechanism in Minimal Susy Models
نویسنده
چکیده
We calculate the region of the MSSM parameter space (i.e. M1/2, m0, μ, . . . ) compatible with a correct electroweak breaking and a realistic top-quark mass. To do so we have included all the one-loop corrections to the effective potential V1 and checked their importance in order to obtain consistent results. We also consider the fine-tuning problem due to the enormous dependence of MZ on ht (the top Yukawa coupling), which is substantially reduced when the one-loop effects are taken into account. We also explore the reliability of the so-called ”standard” criterion to estimate the degree of fine-tuning. As a consequence, we obtain a new set of upper bounds on the MSSM parameters or, equivalently, on the supersymmetric masses perfectly consistent with the present experimental bounds. Phenomenology of the Littlest Higgs with T-Parity
Little Higgs models offer an interesting approach to weakly coupled electroweak symmetry breaking without fine tuning. The original little Higgs models were plagued by strong constraints from electroweak precision data which required a fine tuning to be reintroduced. An economical solution to this problem is to introduce a discrete symmetry (analogous to R-parity of SUSY) called T-parity. T-par...
متن کاملRelaxed fine-tuning in models with non-universal gaugino masses
We study, in a bottom-up approach, the fine-tuning problem between soft SUSY breaking parameters and the μ-term for the successful electroweak symmetry breaking in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. It is shown that certain nontrivial ratios between gaugino masses, that is non-universal gaugino masses, are necessary at the GUT scale, in order for the fine-tuning to be reduced above 10% ...
متن کاملSolving the μ Problem in Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking Models with Flavor Symmetry
We suggest a solution to the μ problem of gauge mediated supersymmtery breaking models based on flavor symmetries. In this scenario the μ term arises through the vacuum expectation value of a singlet scalar field which is suppressed by a flavor symmetry factor relative to the scale of dynamical SUSY breaking. The same flavor symmetry also ensures that the soft SUSY breaking parameter Bμ is not ...

The Higgs mechanism is the heart of the Standard Model (SM) providing masses to gauge bosons via electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB). However, the SM fails to explain the origin of the Higgs mechanism and has certain naturalness problems, such as the extreme fine tuning required to keep the higher order corrections to the higgs mass under control (the so called hierarchy problem). In popular S...
متن کاملSUSY Searches in Multi-lepton and Di-photon Final States at DØ
The standard model of particle physics has proved remarkable successful in explaining the behavior of particles thus far observed in high energy physics experiments. However, the standard model requires significant fine tuning to explain why the scale of electroweak symmetry breaking is so much less than the GUT scale. Supersymmetry (SUSY) theory provides a natural explanation for this by propo...
